nothing like teaching an old dog new tricks…

well, i finsihed my first day of school… wow, i learned a lot and still have a lot to learn… the instructor and his wife are great… helpful and have been very successful photographers for around 40 years… my goal for attending this school was to try to gain better control of my business as a whole and to learn more about my camera and lighting… i am off to a good start and anticipate a great day tomorrow… i have met some wonderful people… we are sharing stories and experiences that we have had to try to help each other not learn “the hard way”…

i have been evaluating my business a lot lately… i want to be able to provide my clients what they desire at a reasonable price but am slowly realizing that i spend around 80% of my life lately devoted to photography and not enough time with my family and for myself… i am going to be working up some new policies for my business… things that i hope will make your experience with me a delightful one as well as make my job a little easier and not as time consuming…

i absolutely LOVE what i get to call my “job”… it is wonderful but as my business grows if find myself having a hard time telling clients that i can’t achieve something and end up working myself crazy trying to please everyone…

well, now that i have just dumped my head out in type i guess i need to get some rest and get ready for tomorrow…

i just want all those clients and friends that have encouraged me to know how much i appreciate them and look forward to any upcoming sessions…

a special post…

keb_4keb_1keb_21keb_31

this is my first post with my new blog and i wanted it to be a super-special post so i saved it for this one… i finally was able to go down to my brother’s home and photograph my sweet niece, kadence… as most of you are aware, kadence was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis after birth… when she was 6 days old she was airlifted to shreveport and had emergency surgery to remove a bowel obstruction… three days later, she had to have a colostomy done… she is home now and slowly healing… they are having trouble finding a formula to agree with her, but that isn’t uncommon with newborns… she is very small but mom and dad are working very hard (day and night… huh, nikki!! lol!!) to get her healthly and at a good weight… she went wednesday to shreveport for a check up and the doctor’s are pleased with her progress… they said mom and dad are taking good care of her… she has had a lot of prayers go up for her and they are working… i am so proud of my brother and sis-n-law, they are so strong and will be the best parents that that sweet girl could ask for… she is our heart… our little miracle…

sweet dreams… kim
